Meet the Horses

As two teams; Bill and Nitro a pair of Draft Percheron horses and Sonny and Cher a match pair of Draft Belgian horses pull Classic Carriage’s magnificent carriages, open show wagon and covered wagon. They weigh approximately one ton each (2,000 lbs) and are as gentle as the family pet. Both teams are outfitted in hand-crafted harnesses, accented with shiny chrome hardware.

These two teams are known for their patient manner around all ages of people. They are also known as the most popular draft horses in Staunton, Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley.

Imagine hearing the “clip-clop” of hooves striking the pavement. You and your guest may ride the Surrey, the Vis-à-vis, or the Covered Wagon in a storybook style to celebrate a birthday, wedding, reunion, engagement, anniversary, prom, grand opening, customer appreciation days, company picnic or any special occasion.

Travel time with ‘two horsepower’:

To go one mile it takes approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Terrain, road conditions, and motorized vehicle traffic may alter this estimated time.

All Classic Carriage’s horse drawn vehicles are equipped for road safety and have lights for night driving.
